Hey, folks! To borrow a phrase from Black Clover, “Guess who is back!” That’s right! Yours Truly, the Curiously Dead Cat, NegativePrimes!
So yeah, I’ve been flying all over the country on business, but I’m finally done with traveling until 2019! And I’m looking forward to being more consistent about blogging again.
This should be easier in part thanks to an early Christmas present (from myself). I found a great deal on a high-end business tablet, which makes it easier than ever to blog wherever and whenever the Muse strikes.
Among other things, it’s got superb handwriting recognition, so all I have to do now is write my posts by hand and let the tablet turn it into nice computer fonts in WordPress. Now, I can hear some of you gasping, “Write by hand?! What’s this, the Dark Ages?” To each their own, but I find it easier to write creatively when I’m not swiping on a mobile keyboard. Yet it’s also inconvenient to be tied down to a computer all the time.
Maybe it’s just me, but I much prefer typing or handwriting.
In case I do feel like typing, though, I also picked up a cheap bluetooth keyboard that folds up small enough to fit in your pocket and has excellent battery life.
In other blogging news, I just celebrated CDC’s first anniversary! Thank you to those of you who chimed in with good wishes last week. I really appreciate your encouragement (what writer doesn’t?), and it helps feed the fires of Motivation.
And finally, thank you to all of you who clicked my Amazon Affiliate links! A trickle of revenue has started coming in, which encourages me far more than I feel it should. After all, I’m doing this as a hobby, not a business, and the chief pleasure comes from writing and interacting with you, my beloved readers. So thank you to all of you in the various ways you show your support of CDC, whether it be by sharing posts, clicking links, subscribing, or commenting and liking.
Oh, and also for nominating me for awards. I haven’t followed up on the last few, because it takes away from writing about my larger interests (at least some of the time). So please don’t think I’m ignoring the nominations, which I do hope to get to.
Other recent milestones reached include breaking past 50 subscribeus on WordPress, nearing200 subscribers total, and seeing an uptick in blog traffic.
Oh yeah, and I got invited to write a book! Specifically, a book on anine and theology. Now, writing a book is a huge endeavor, as those of you who just finished Nanowrimo know. So who knows if I’ll actually do it. But it’s a cool opportunity, no?
Excelsior! (In memory of Stan Lee)
Hand writing sounds hard, but I would like to try it at some point.
Yeah, that’s how I feel about affiliate links as well. It’s weird.
I’ve always felt as though I think more creatively when writing by hand. So writing on a mobile device is the best of both worlds.🙂
whoa, that’s so cool! good luck with the book, I’m looking forward to hearing more about it!
Thank you, Jenn! I’ll definitely share more if/when there’s more to share!
Wow, handwriting on a tablet?!
And did you mean “anime” when you said “anine”? Can’t wait for more on it!
Ha, yes-I meant anime. We’ll see what comes of it.🙂
Yeah, it’s pretty amazing how well the tablet can recognize handwriting – especially my handwriting!
