So you may have heard that US President Donald Trump just said that, to secure the US-Mexican border, he will build “a human wall if necessary”. Now, this has caused no small consternation on the part of political talking heads trying to figure out what on earth he means.

Seemed fairly obvious to me, though:

That’s right: Trump is envisioning something like the wall in Attack on Titan.

Which raises the fascinating prospect that maybe the US president watches anime, and the far more disturbing specter that he may be getting policy ideas from it as well.

Think that’s a stretch? Think again. The most recent story arch of Radiant dealt with a corrupt leader, Konrad, who kept his power by turning public sentiment against immigrants. Konrad even goes so far as to say,

I will keep this town safe.

You might call me its protective wall.

It’s pretty clear to me that Radiant reads as a critique of Trump’s approach to immigration. What appears to have happened, though, is that Trump watched this part and decided, “Hey, that’s a good idea!” Voila! Human wall! #WhenSatireBackfires

  1. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

That was good— no GREAT LOL. THAT was a good laugh.

    10/10 post

He is probably taking notes from Mr. Tonegawa: Middle Management Blues…something he could implement from the company president’s schemes.

      1. I love the comedy, it hits pretty well and if someone has ever worked in mid to upper management and led projects, there are some scenes that are hilariously relatable and killed me. But regardless, just the protagonist being an old dude and the subject matter and the art style… it was incredibly refreshing to not follow around a 17 year old male high school student. I say give it a shot!
