Heads-up, folks! I just renewed my annual subscription to Weekly Shonen Jump, which reminded me: WSJ still has the first thirty chapters of the My Hero Academia manga up for free on their website! Good only through the end of the month! And the heartwarming jump start Alice & Taiyo has the first two (soon to be three) chapters up as well.
Oh, and if you can’t get enough of MHA, there’s also the significantly darker prequel My Hero Academia: Vigilantes. How much darker? Well, a recent chapter depicted one of the main characters electrocuting his daughter to death after she (not he) fell victim to a mind-control quirk. If the heroes of MHA are like Superman, MHA:V gives us a whole boatload of Batman. (Well, it’s not quite Batman-dark.) Note that WSJ periodically expires their free chapters, so these won’t always be available: In fact, chapters 2-5 are already locked down, so hurry! Come see the dark side of the hero world, with illegal “heroes” battling both villains and licensed heroes! And meet the American version of All Might!
