Update: I’m having trouble allowing comments for some reason. Please bear with me…

Dear readers,

Sometimes I feel like blogging about life or other things that aren’t anime related. How much interest would you have in something like that? (I know that you’ll say to blog about whatever I like, because you’re awesome like that. I want to gauge how much you’d actually read it.)

Right now I’m sitting in a conference room in Pennsylvania sipping tea before catching a flight home. It’s nice and peaceful, which is rare enough between work and family life with four kids.

The little Primes are going all out in making their Halloween costumes which are really full cosplays of characters from Shadowerse. (You may remember that last year they did the Wild Wild Pussycats from My Hero Academia.) This year they’ll be the robot sisters Tetra, Mono, Aenea, and the boyish robot Clunky.

As someone who enjoys video games and operating systems, I was pleased to learn about Valve’s Proton project, which allows Windows games to be played on Linux. I’ve installed it and given it a try, and it’s remarkably mature. So I can run Subnautica on Linux now, for example. It’s beautiful! I’m tempted to start streaming on twitch again, this time trying games on Linux.

Had a good conversation with one of my Twitter friends the other day about the Catholic Church in the US (and the English-speaking world more broadly). Basically, there’s a lot of bizarre problems that arise when you try to map catholic stuff onto US political categories. I may post an edited version on the blog.

So yeah, what do y’all think?

  1. I’d like to read other topics, and I think it’d be even more cool if you relate them!

I have to be careful with the political stuff, though. I’m pretty close to the boiling point with a lot of it!

  2. I understood: tea; Halloween; costumes. So, pretty good post for me! But, yes, please expand your subject matter. Heaven knows, I blog about music and the occasional book on my little aniblog. . .

  3. Going to show my age here, but my socialite mother taught me one never NEVER discusses politics or religion in social settings. Like cocktail parties, or funerals, or whatever. Does that count here? Most of my life, I ignored this rule, but these days I’m so sick of politics I do tend to turn away. Religion still interests me though. That said, I approve of bloggers discussing personal life, peeves, curiosities and so on. I don’t ONLY watch anime, why would you? I like knowing a bit more about a writer, and that also informs my understanding of what we might and might not agree on when it comes to anime – among other things. So go for it! And,if you’re comfortable, I’d love pictures of the little primes in costume 😀
